Alta-Aware-1592: Golang security vulnerabilities before 1.22.4 and 1.21.11

Overview

Two vulnerabilities have been discovered in the Go programming language. CVE-2024-24789 affects the archive/zip package, where mishandling of corrupt central directory records in zip files could lead to inconsistencies in how the file contents are interpreted by different zip implementations. CVE-2024-24790 affects the net/netip package, where the Is methods (e.g. IsPrivate, IsLoopback, etc) exhibited unexpected behavior when handling IPv4-mapped IPv6 addresses, returning false for addresses which would return true in their traditional IPv4 forms.

  • All Stable upgrade channel versions after and including 6.8.10.

• Avigilon Cloud-Native Cameras:

  • All Stable upgrade channel versions after and including 6.8.10.

• Alta Video Cloud: from 10th June 2024

Resolution

This issue has been fixed in Alta Video Stable upgrade channel version 6.8.10.

It is crucial that all installations running an affected version are upgraded to the latest release as soon as possible. Releases are available to download through the Alta Video User Interface.

A fix was deployed to the Alta Video Cloud on 10th June 2024. Alta Video Cloud customers do not need to take any additional action.

This issue has been fixed in Avigilon Cloud-Native Cameras Stable upgrade channel version 6.8.10.

It is crucial that all Avigilon Cloud-Native camera installations running an affected version upgrade to the latest release as soon as possible. Releases are available to download through the Alta Video User Interface for Avigilon Cloud-Native cameras and the Avigilon Cloud-Native Camera Interface for unmanaged cameras.
